RESOLUTION

The end is near.

time is crashing,

and another year

is passing.

Where it went,

there's no knowing,

and how spent,

there's no showing.

Was it prized?

Was it daring?

Was it wise?

Was it caring?

Can we say,

it was good,

we did everyday,

the best we could?

Did we love?

Did we forgive,

or push and shove,

and just try to live?

Did we look ahead

with sight within,

or walk among the dead

and wallow in our sin?

Did we connect

with the spirit,

or did we say "what the heck",

and grin and bear it?

Did we look to God alone,

seeking His grace,

or did we throw Him a bone,

and slap Him in the face?

If time could be bent,

we might say,

"It was not what was meant",

and push replay.

But all in all,

as in our distant past,

ages fall,

and nothing lasts.

So start anew,

make a fresh start,

vow to be true

to a loving heart.

And all our love,

freely give

to God above,

and really live.

What will you do,

If you miss the mark?

Will you weep,

and wail,

or will you REPENT?
